Developed in-house by Hyde Park Solutions, "Portfolios Data Utility" (PDU) is designed to enable the automated import and export of structured data files, either CSV or XML, on a regular scheduled basis.
Scheduling is setup in the Windows Server scheduled task by the application support team within the enterprise. For each system interface, a configuration file (xml) is maintained which defines the structure of the data file and any transformations to be performed on the data before it is loaded.
Using a configuration file in this way ensures that if a donor/recipient systems requirements change during the life of the portfolio management system, it is only necessary to implement changes in the interface file and not in the PDU utility itself. Typical uses of this utility have included daily, weekly and monthly transfer of data into and from OPPM transferring, for example, actual spend data for projects from financial systems.
